Obituary of Jack Lohmeier

John James (Jack) Lohmeier was born September 13, 1925, in a country home south of Limon.  He was the son of George Martin Lohmeier and Helena Elizabeth (Burns) Lohmeier and was the youngest of eight children.  As a child, he attended a country school and worked on the family farm.

In 1944, he graduated from Limon High School.  It was then that he met his future bride, Betty Jean Johnson.  They were married on February 15, 1947 and would have celebrated their 72nd   Anniversary last week.  To this union were born 6 children.  He was a hard worker and devoted to his family.  Jack will always be remembered for his witty sense of humor and infectious laugh.

Jack and his brother Gerald owned and operated Lohmeier Brothers Standard Service Station for 34 years.  After selling the station in 1981, Jack became book keeper for his sons at Limon Plumbing & Supply until he retired after many years.  Jack was a faithful member of the Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church until his death.
