Obituary of Nina Lou Ford

Nina Lou Walker Ford was born November 8, 1927, in Seibert Colorado to Aubrey Walker and Winnie Anderson Walker and entered into rest December 19, 2018.  She was 91 years old.

She received her education in Flagler, graduating high school in 1945.  She attended Denver University for two years. She then moved to Vona, Colorado where she got a teaching job. There she met Pat Ford and on February 29, 1948 they were married at St. Charles Church in Stratton, Colorado.

She leaves her son, Tony (Debby), and their children Trey and Jamie.  Trey’s wife (Kelbi) and their children Asher and Palmer. Daughter Jill (Jim) and their children Brendan and Michelle. Brendan’s wife Teri and daughter Roxanne.  Daughter Lannie (Pat) and their children Alexandra and Patrick.  Also survived by her granddaughters Kelly (David) and  Megan and Megan’s daughter Lou. She also is survived by several relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Pat, daughter Kristie, her parents Aubrey and Winnie Walker, Brother Dale and his wife Betty, sister Lavon and husband Wilbur. Her in-laws Ray and Harriett Ford.

Nina Lou spent many years helping Pat and her brother Dale operate the Stop and Shop Supermarket.  The store first opened in September of 1951.  They became sole owners in 1963 and sold the store to their son Tony in 1975.  She was also a busy mother of four children.

Nina Lou loved Flagler. She was active in many card clubs and civic events but her love for FHS Alumni was her favorite event. She coordinated the Homecoming Program for many years and it was her love of that program that gave her and the community a great sense of enjoyment.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday January 5, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Congregational Church in Flagler with Pastor Bob Strauch officiating.
